It shouldn’t be hard to create an amazing photo op on prom night. Students are full of smiles and dressed in their prom dresses and tuxes – so all you need to add is a little extra pizzazz! With these tips and tricks that go way beyond your basic photo booth, create a stunning photo op that students will love to frame for years to come.
When we curate new prom themes each year, we think about all the creative uses the pieces will have inside a venue. All our new themes feature a stunning and dramatic archway, so why not use it for a photo op? On-theme and over 8-feet tall, these arches add a striking focal point to any-sized venue. For casino night, the roaring 20s, garden or winter themes, set up a professional camera next to the entryway arch to give students the opportunity to walk into the venue and strike a pose. Perfect!
A photo booth doesn’t have to be limited by a square background. These photo props are stunning, on-theme and larger-than-life. Grab your best friend or prom date and smile next to giant and trendy "2019" 3D numbers, or "casino" spelled in lighted, 3D letters. Try posing under romantic birch trees or next to a fairytale story book. Or share a selfie under the Hollywood palm trees or upon the tropical throne chair. These props will give your venue the extra boost it needs for a vibrant, on-theme look.
It’s All About the Accents
Adding small, extra design elements to the photo can take the final prom picture to the next level. We love these ideas for prom 2019 – especially when they’re paired with our brand new themes. Twinkling string lights and greenery add a romantic element and beautiful ambiance to photos. Dates will be lining up for a frameable moment – perfect for a garden, fairytale or Paris theme.
Try styling your photo with balloons! Balloons are an inexpensive way to add an extra design element – try letter balloons spelling your favorite party phrase or school’s name. We kept it simple with "prom". For the Meet Me Under the Sea theme, dangle clear balloons from strings tied to the ceiling to create an underwater bubble effect. It’s so easy! Or create giant balloon columns to frame your very own Hollywood red carpet photo booth. As students enter the venue, direct them to the red carpet for a memorable photo. If all else fails, blow up a ton of balloons with an electric inflator or hand pump and sprinkle them around the venue. Throw them in the air for a fun photo!
